Pre-Season Warm Up For The Basketball Season

During the first Semester me and a few other teammates with our coach have been creating after school basketball practice sessions to be ready for when the real season starts as this is will greatly help my skill level in the play of basketball. Also we play on saturdays together in the event called community basketball at osc which has basically no age limits to who can play or talent level. So the skill levels vary between school kids playing and also adults with more experience and exposure toward basketball which can greatly help my performance during season as it would be a great way to learn from others and also know how to perfect myself in that sport.

S.O.S Orphanage Semester 1

Over the course of semester one i have been participating in a Community and Service called S.O.S Orphanage and in this service we interact with kids in the pool and on the field. In the pool we teach the kids how to swim for a little while and play ball games as well. When we are teaching them how to swim we support them with either floating noodles, boards, or floaties. This is to help them develop there confidence in the water and to feel more comfortable in general when they encounter water in the future. Outside of the water we also are doing activities in the field for the kids as we would play sports that are enjoyable team work games that can allow the kids to interact with each other and us students in OSC as well. As these activities are in action we are developing there communication skills with each other and helpng them all be risk takers by bringing them into the water and helping some of them conquer the fear of water. Pictures will be uploaded in the next few sessions of CAS

Sports Day 2012

MY LAST SPORTS DAY
This year i attended my 8th and last year of sports day for green house as i am now a senior and will not be returning to OSC hopefully. However i did enjoy myself playing outsite with my classmates and other students below my year as it was a new challenge to play sports with people who haven't played before or just with people i was not to familiar with. I did'nt know for example that the juniors have some people that have serious potential for sports (mainly football) and look like they don't but secretly there is some hidden talent.

The sports i participated in were football, basketball, and tug-o-war.
I enjoyed basketball the most as its one of my favorite sports and i have been playing since i was about 12. With the experience i also had on the court it was more enjoyable for me to communicate with my team and take risk that would be fun to see the outcome. As i was able to make people in my team feel more comfortable when they play basketball as i would say it doesn't matter if you miss just try your best, and with that i passed the ball a lot and gace a lot of people open shots, and some of these people had never played before so i enjoyed showing other people what i really enjoy playing as a hobby and maybe as a profession one day.

Over the course of Sports Day my team became a lot less shy as the day went on and people had been trying to do what they could to win and try their best even if they were not perfectly skilled or have not even played that type of sport before.
